The day commenced as always , attempting to get all the sleepy heads up and out of bed. You would think the teachers would know what’s expected of them in the morning. Then it was off to the dining room where breakfast was waiting.
The usual selection of cereals , toast and todays special scrambled eggs and sausages Conniseurs of camp eating could not remember a better start to the day. MKR will definitively be looking into an episode where contestants attempt to satisfy campers.
A gentle walk down to the commencement of the days activities let the breakfast settle and the butterflies take over. The predawn rains softened up the mud run course for the eager competitors from Olps, stripped down to their commando gear ready for some tough muddling. Great efforts by all, esp Seb B’s swan dive into the water course. Truly a brave lad . Canoeing was also on the agenda this morning and then back for some more eating-not the best way to commence the Easter diet.
The day continued with some challenging team challenges followed by some quality bonding time with our fellow campers. Frisbee, football and a general mucking around activity were the fav actions of the afternoon.
Dinner was the all time favourite Parma without a pot with a choice of toppings vegetables and salad. Surely the best way to finish the night : but no, ice cream and yummy yummy fruit salad tested the gastric juices of even the most prodigious eaters.
Luckily we then travelled to the top of the hill to test out our torches with a game of capture the flag- rules more complicated than checkers that stretched even the most able mind up there tonight. As per usual a walk up and down hills ensured our lungs also got a great work out.
We are currently in barracks with sgt major Whitty ensuring troops will be ably rested for the tour of Wilsons promontory tomorrow at 0800 hours. The hike followed by some rec time on the beach is something we have all looked forward to since our arrival.
Signing off for tonight
